When Gary closed down his MBO, ZS5S took over and renamed the bulletin 'Chirping Mickey Mice' (the Amtor mode at the time had a characteristic chirping sound). Around 1990, with the advance of Aplink, details of some yachts appeared on the list. In 1994 ZS5S was the first MBO in the world providing a Radio-Email service maintaining this position for two years. By 1996 the number of CMM participants had sky-rocketed. Thereafter an increasing number of Winlink/Netlink MBO's started to share the load and the number of CMM participants went down. After the start of Winlink-2000 the CMM feature was basically incorporated in that system. The CMM bulletin has served us well but has now outlived its usefulness. It has been terminated with immediate effect. - end -
