The Zip Zap Circus School is the result of a dream by its founders Brent van Rensburg
and Laurence Esteve, who dared to take their passion for circus and share it with those
who would not have otherwise had the chance. Together with a fellow trapeze artist
Rodleigh Stevens, Brent and Laurence are comprise the full-time staff at Zip Zap:

Brent van Rensburg, Co-Founder, Artistic Director
An internationally established trapeze artist, Brent has toured with various renowned circuses
including Ringling Bros. Barnum and Bailey (USA) and Circus Bourglione (France). In addition,
Brent worked for two years as an aerial and acrobatic instructor at the Clown College in Florid
and for three years conducting circus workshops for Club Med Holiday Resorts. He now brings his
over 20 years experience and passion for circus to training young, aspiring Zip Zap performers.
Laurence Esteve, Co-Founder, Manager Director
Since completing completing her MBA, Laurence has worked extensively as a business administrator
for numerous Club Med resorts around the world. As managing director and choreographer for Zip
Zap, Laurence, herself an internationally ranked athlete in Artistic Snow Ski and Windsurfing,
has combined her diverse academic, athletic and artistic talents to help make the circus school
function and grow.
Rodleigh Stevens, Trainer, Technical Director
Rodleigh has over 25 years experience as a professional trapeze artist, having toured the world
over with various acts as part of a number of international circuses including Cirkus Berney,
Circo Embell Riva, Circus Nock, the Austrian National Circus, Circus Vargas, Ringling Bros.
Barnum and Bailey, Gerry Cottle Circus, the Royal London Circus and Circus Barnum. Not only a
specialist in aerial acrobatics and strength-related skills, Rodleigh also holds a diploma in
Clinical Technology with a concentration in Pulmonology. Since 1998, Rodleigh has made the
transition from circus performer to that of circus trainer, where he is able to pass on not only
important technical skills, but a wealth of personal and professional experience to a new
generation of circus performers.
