A descriptive list of acts performed by the Zip Zap Circus School specifying number of performers, skills and equipment involved per act.



  • Cable: two girls suspended by a single cable performing an aerial duet.
  • Table: 1930s-type slap-stick comedy acrobatic act performed by three boys.
  • Web: aerial ballet performed by one girl on a suspended rope.
  • Contortion: intrepid interlude of outstanding balance and flexibility performed by one girl
  • Lunatricks: themed vaulting comedy act with up to ten tumblers utilizing a mini- trampoline, vaulting box and mat.
  • Casting: daring two-person aerial display of somersaults and twisting. The standing catcher and flier work from a frame suspended in midair with two footplates for catcher.
  • Swinging Trap: a solo trapeze act (boy or girl) incorporating toe and heal catches from a weighted, swinging trapeze bar.
  • Triple Trapeze: three girls perform a dazzling aerial ballet from a single suspended trapeze bar choreographed to music.

  • Single Trap: non-swinging solo trapeze choreographed to music.
  • Double Trap classic: boy-girl duo performing intricate manoeuvres on stationary trapeze bar.
  • Double Trap comedy: similar to the classic double trap but with comedy twist.
  • Adagio: combinations of lifts and throughs with a base man or men and female leaper choreographed to music.
  • Poupee: two-person comedy doll act involving flexibility and timing.
  • Camera: group comedy act parody on tourists world-wide.
  • Juggling: themed group juggling act combining balls, clubs, fire clubs choreographed with pyramids and acrobatics.
  • High Wire: two boys performing unaided highwire act from 6 meters above the ground.
  • Low Wire: one or two boys performing wire dancing, jumping and juggling unaided at 2 meters above the ground.
  • Flying Trapeze: full size flying trapeze with or without Russian swing.
  • Cradle: two person act, with catcher upside-down hanging by knees from a suspended frame and flier jumping from cradle to hands; involves both static and swinging manoeuvres.
  • Hand Stand: mastering techniques of standing on hands (or hand!).
  • Stick Fight: African traditional ceremonial dance performed as an introductory act to Kwela Mamba.
  • Kwela Mamba: a combination rope climbing and cradle act.
  • Unicycles: a large group act of wheeling wizardry.
  • Pyramid: the whole group (about 30 kids) balancing upto three people high.
