Financial Matters


COURSE FEES

Other than the course fees as stipulated hereunder, students will not be required to incur large additional expense during the course of their studies at the school. All equipment for productions is provided by the school, but an expenses voluntarily or inadvertently incurred by student production teams outside production budget parameters laid down by the course director will be for the student's account.

Upon registration all first-time students are required to pay a non-refundable registration fee of R500.00. Course Fees for 1998 are as follows :
Film & TelevisionR15 000.00
Dramatic ArtR12 400.00
Note : Fees are subject to change annually.

PAYMENT OF FEES

Fees are paid in two instalments :

Under no circumstances will students be permitted to pay in monthly or quarterly instalments. Students who arrive on enrolment day with the intention of seeking alternative terms of payment will forfeit their place on the course as well as their registration fee.

BURSARIES

Alimited number of bursaries are available per year for disadvantaged students. Applications must be submitted during the interview.

TEACHING-ASSISTANTSHIPS

Selected students enrolled for the Advanced Diploma Courses are offered positions as teaching-assistants.

Fees are reduced in direct proportion to the hours clocked up in formal teaching-assistant duties. It is possible for such a student to eliminate his/her fees entirely, and in some instances even earn a salary.

Teaching assistantships are only available to Advanced Diploma students and are limited. Posts are offered by the board of directors to selected students.
