Admission

Film & Television :

If you wish to seek admission to the Diploma in Film & Television you must attend an interview in which you will be required to :

present a verbal analysis of :
1. an original cinematic work that you have made on your own
  or
2. a scene from an existing film.
write a short essay (1 page typed) in which you motivate your reasons for wishing to pursue a career in film and television.

Dramatic Art :

Admission to the Diploma in Dramatic Art is through :

an interview and audition for students wishing to major in acting;
a writen exam and interview for students wishing to major in directing;
an interview and presentation of a writing portfolio for students wishing to major in playwriting.

The primary criteria for admission to the SASFTDA is evidence of the applicant's talent and potential for making a successful career as a professional in the South African film, television, or drama industries.

Intake numbers in all courses are limited. Not all applicants will be accepted.
