In 2002 Karel Rode started a study group for candidates for the CISSP exam. This group met regularly to hear a talk organised by one of us or an outside person to discuss each of the ten domains required for the CISSP qualification. Many of us felt the post talk discussions to be of tremendous value. We shared experiences and project successes and failures. In a bid to maintain this free flow of information and learning we decided to keep the group going with the aims of spreading IT security awareness, promoting ethical practices, providing a pool of resources we could draw on and sharing experiences in the security field.
An executive comittee was elected and Derek drew up the constitution. We meet approx six weekly but close over the christmas period.

We also have public meetings to promote certain aspects of security.
