Kleinbaai Harbour
Kleinbaai harbour is a small picturesque harbour
that has been used by fishermen over many years.
It is situated on the South-Eastern side of
Danger Point and is well protected against the North westerly storms of
the winter months. Kleinbaai harbour is very shallow and at low tide navigating
in the harbour area it hazardous.
It is not suitable for mooring facilities
so all boats using the harbour have to be launched at the slipway also
restricting the size of vessels.
Kleinbaai harbour has a small jetty suitable
for two boats only, creating congestion over weekends and during fishing
competitions.
The abalone divers also make use of this harbour
and large numbers of boats can be seen returning to the harbour with their
abalone catches which is then strictly controled by the inspectors of the
Department of Seafisheries.
This is the most suitable harbour to be used
by the shark cage diving operators and is only 20 minutes away from Dyer
island.
"carcharias" our new 40foot boat which operates
from Gansbaai harbour can take 20 passengers and has a hot shower on board.
This boat is driven by two 250HP Cummins diesel engines and has a cruising
speed of 25 knots
With the "Master of Happiness" now tied
to the jetty the tourists can disembark and will be taken to a restaurant
for a hearty meal.
