Exciting Lifestyles in the worlds' Largest Industry

The International Hotel School opened its doors at the famous Carlton Hotel in Johannesburg in January 1994.   Always focused on producing the calibre of graduates that would be eagerly accepted by industry, the School grew steadily.   In January 1998 the School moved to its current premises in Illovo and formed new partnerships with the best hotels in the area to provide the critical practical exposure.

In 1999, the school opened a satellite campus adjacent to and in conjunction with the Royal Hotel in Durban.   Following the formula developed in the Carlton days, the school is able to offer a residential option for out of town students.   In July 2001, the much awaited Cape Town Campus opens, offering a mid year intake option that fits better with Cape tourism strong seasonality.

From its inception, the International Hotel School has owed its success and continued growth to a number of factors.

  •  The commitment of the Directors and Staff to produce graduates of the calibre demanded by industry  -  listening to what industry tells us.

  •  Benchmarking its standards against the best internationally and providing qualifications that are accepted world wide.

  •  Focusing on creating practical competence and therefore confidence  -  meeting the challenge of providing exposure and effective training in a fully operational standards oriented environment.
