More Detailed Information

Part time study

Utilising the same core materials produced by the educational institute of the American Hotel and Lodging Association, students can choose to study courses singly or in subject groups.   Whichever choices are made, students are advised to choose with their long term aspirations in mind.

Distance Learning

Students normally start in the first part of the year to ensure that they are able to benefit from the tutorials arranged twice per year in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg.

E Learning

Instead of the traditional book based study, students can now opt to study and ultimately sit the exams via internet access to the Educational Institutes web site.  -  A real option for those with web access and perhaps living in an area removed from our tutorial centres.

Short Courses

Not every one wishes to study to an annual academic calendar  -  for them we have adapted some of the more popular courses to an intensive one week format.   Students will preferably be sent books the month before the course and sit exams (optional) one month after.  Note for employers / associations where you can guarantee a group of 10 or more students we can deliver the course on your premises, for greater cost effectiveness.

Skills Training

During the development of its full time programmes the school has created a number of first class skills training packages  -  specifically on Food & Beverage Service, Housekeeping and Front Office.   Run on a day release or short course basis, they provide employers with a significant resource in their training armory.

Fidelio Training

Fidelio is the pre-eminant property management software used by leading hotels in the region.   Licensed by Fidelio, the International Hotel School runs regular training courses for aspiring and established Front Office Agents.   (Available at the Durban Campus  -  Johannesburg and Cape Town soon).
