THE WEIMARANER KLUB

Established in 1976

Affiliated to THE KENNEL UNION OF SOUTHERN AFRICA since 1981 

This is the only official Weimaraner Club in South Africa. The Club has been affiliated with The Kennel Union of Southern Africa (KUSA) since 1981. Although we have our own constitution, we are still bound by KUSA's rules and regulations.

Club related activities are processed through the Districts of Gauteng and Surrounds (DOGS) Provincial Council with the exception of our Shooting Ratings which is processed by the Field Trial Liaison Council (FTLC)

The Weimaraner Klub participates in both the show and field events with equal gusto. Initially show oriented due to restrictions pertaining to KUSA's regulations in the field disciplines, which has limited the formal field participation. Unofficial field work has not been left unattended. We hold our own Shooting and Retriever ratings which prove to be of much glee and delight to both  handlers (well, almost) and spectators. KUSA has approved these Ratings and they are run under Schedule 5C (4), which means that the awards are now carried over onto the official KUSA pedigree.
