The launch of CBOR's new education package took place on 9th June 2000
The new package consist of:
- a workshop manual consisting of 5
modules
- The South African Constitution
- The Bill of Rights
- Citizen Participation
- Socio-economic Rights
- Equality
In this Workshop Manual we explore why the Constitution and Bill of rights gives South Africans a new way of life! The activities in the manual focus on the Constitution and what it means in peoples' lives. They also cover various aspects of the Bill of Rights - how rights fit into peoples' lives, the duties linked to rights, limitations on rights, protecting and promoting rights and the importance of broad public participation in making peoples' rights real in their own lives! The workshop Manual is accompanied by a Resource Manual to which facilitators can refer during workshops.
- A resource manual providing trainers and facilitators with substantive information about the topics covered in workshops.
- A video consisting of various scenarios pertaining to the 5 focus areas. The video is used together with the workshop manual. The video was developed and produced in a joint venue with Community Video Education Trust (CVET). It was filmed in Genadendal in the Western Cape.
