CAPE FRIENDS OF CALLIGRAPHY

The CFC was born in February 1984 as a result of the initiative taken by Glyn Hewson.   Glyn travelled to both the United States and Great Britain where valuable contact was made with the likes of the San Francisco Calligraphy Society.  He received great support by internationally recognised calligraphers such as Susie Taylor and Alan Blackman.

THE CFC AIMS

To promote and encourage an enthusiasm for and interest in calligraphic and italic handwriting.

To provide opportunities for the above aim to be realised through the regular organisation of meetings, seminars and workshops.

To produce regular publications in the form of a magazine or Newsletter in order to promote the above aims.

The CFC invites anyone interested in lettering and writing design to join.  There are no requirements regarding writing skills and experience.   Membership is open to all.  We have always based our activities on friendship and maintain a strong commitment to that part of our title.
