Pomeroy History

In the year 1066AD, the knight Ralph de Pomeroy sailed to England from Normandy, France, with William The Conqueror and his army, where they defeated King Harold at the battle of Hastings. For his loyalty and bravery Knight Ralph de Pomeroy was awarded 51 counties in southern England. The Pomeroy Castle Berry in Devon is one of Britain’s National treasures. The Pomeroy family crest appears in the Battle Abbey at Westminster Cathedral in London.
