Silhouette Shooting in The Netherlands

The first activities in Metallic Silhouette Shooting in The Netherlands started in 1987. The "Nederlandse Silhouetschutters Associatie, NSA", founded in 1989, is recognised as the official body that manages all silhouette shooting in The Netherlands. The NSA is a co-founding member of AETSM and IMSSU.

The primary activity of the NSA is promoting silhouette shooting. The second activity is facilitating its members to shoot competitions and championships.

A spin off of our silhouette shooting activities is long range pistol shooting, which is shot at 100 m, 200 m and 300 m with in principle the same guns as for silhouette shooting. The NSA developed a set of targets for long range pistol shooting using the distance from back to belly of the BB-ram at 200 m as a guideline.

Currently in the Netherlands are about 10 active members, and that are the real active ones.

The NSA does not have own range facilities. Fortunately, we can co-operate with a shooting club in Belgium which has range facilities for silhouette shooting on paper and plastic targets up to 200 m and long range pistol up to 300 m.

In Stein (the Netherlands) a 100 m indoor range is available for SB-pistol and SB-rifle silhouette. The first Dutch championship SB-silhouette was held in November 2002 on this range.
