The 3rd World Championships were held in Sipoo, Finland from 24th June to 4th July 1998. They were hosted by the Sipoo Shooting Club which was established in 1961 and currently has 900 members. The very competent Match Director was Sami Makela and ran extremely smoothly. There was good competition in all events to eventually end up with the new World Champions.

The construction of this range was done by the club in temperatures of around -35C as they needed to get the equipment into the area when the ground was frozen. This range is built on a swamp type piece of land. The man standing there is George Lively - one of the US competitors who attended the shoot.
