The attractions are bars, restaurants, a golf driving range, the original Observatory, Groote Schuur Hospital ( where the world's first heart transplant took place, theatres and small art galleries. The annual Obs Festival is held on the first Saturday in December.

It is not as expensive other Cape Town nightlife areas.
