As stated in the Identifying Your Motherboard page there is
information required before you can expect any support for your problem. I have compiled
the list below to help you sort out your problem as quickly as possible - it will
hopefully get you an answer without to and fro-ing of messages.
Something that causes great confusion is that many, many motherboard manufacturers utilise
Intel PCI chipsets on their products - these motherboards are supported by that
motherboard manufacturer - NOT Intel. The different manufacturers use their own
methods (designs) to access these PCI chipsets and Intel do not police these. For the
uninitiated it is a bit like a roadmap to a city - there are many ways to get there, some
fast and direct, some slow and indirect and some even uncharted, but all eventually get
there. Intel therefore cannot be expected to answer questions on the route used!!! I have
seen end-users get abusive with Intel Support over this because these end-users generally
get upset because it says 'Intel' on the chips and some supplier has hoodwinked them into
believing they have a 'Genuine' Intel manfactured motherboard. They haven't!!! If
you do get a 'not an Intel Motherboard' answer - Intel Support are not evading you or
trying to be difficult - they do know what products they produce!
Here is the list of information you should provide:
