Intel Motherboard Manuals and MMX™ Compatability
You will also need to see if your BIOS is MMX™ ready - this can be done by downloading Intel's MMX™ BIOS check program - if you get a negative answer you will have to upgrade the BIOS.

  1. TC430HX (Tucson)
    Support for 233 MHz Pentiumprocessors with MMXTM technology is available in PBA revision 677266-602, 677267-603 and higher.
    PBA Revision numbers below this may use 200 MHz (or less) Pentium processors with MMXTM technology.
  2. AG430HX (Agate)
    Support for 200 MHz Pentium processors with MMXTM technology is available in PBA revision 664356-401 and higher.
    PBA Revision numbers below this must use 200 MHz (or less) Overdrive Pentium processors with MMXTM technology.
  3. CU430HX (Cumberland)
    Support for 233 MHz Pentium processors with MMXTM technology is available in PBA revision 664962-402 andhigher.
    PBA Revision numbers below this may use 200 MHz (or less) Pentium processors with MMXTM technology.
  4. TE430VX (Tiger Eye)
    Support for 233 MHz Pentium processors with MMXTM technology is available in PBA revision 677109-701 andhigher.
    PBA Revision numbers below this may use 200 MHz (or less) Pentium processors with MMXTM technology.
  5. Advanced/RH (Rhinestone)
    Support for Pentium processors with MMX technology is available only on boards that have a voltage regulator (with a heatsink) next to the processor socket and USB connectors on the back panel. Additionally, the 233 MHz Pentium processor with MMX technology is supported only on Advanced/RH motherboards with PBA number 664638-308 or AA number 670917-308.
  6. Advanced/EV (Endeavour)
    Configurations with a type 7 socket supports Overdrive MMX processors up to 200MHz.
    Configurations with a type 5 socket supports Overdrive MMX processors only up to 180MHz.
  7. Premier/PCI II (Plato)
    Processor Speeds supported

    Overdrive 150MHz or 180MHz MMX

    Overdrive 166MHz MMX
