
The Pretoria Sunrise Rotary Club (formerly the Rotary Club of Pretoria Silverton) is located in District 9400. The original District 925, formed in 1960, was restructured several times and from 1996 as District 9250 encompassed the North and North East of South Africa, Swaziland, Southern Mozambique and Botswana and comprised 49 clubs.In 2008 the RI Board of Directors took the decision to consolidate districts 9250 and 9300 into a new District 9400, effective 1 July 2010, comprising Botswana; Part of Mozambique - the area south of the Save River; Swaziland; part of South Africa - the Limpopo Province; Mpumalanga Province; Gauteng Province; in the North West Province the boundaries north of the southern boundaries of the Magisterial Districts of Mafikeng, Lichtenburg, Coligny and Ventersdorp; that portion of the Free State, north of the southern boundary of the Magisterial District of Sasolburg, east of the eastern boundaries of the Magisterial District of Heilbron and Lindley, and north of the northern boundaries of the Magisterial District of Bethlehem and Harrismith; north of the northern boundary of the Magisterial District of Potchefstroom, twelve kilometres north of the Potchestroom TownHall.
The Rotary Club of Pretoria Silverton was chartered on 3 May 1971, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Pretoria East. The territorial limits of the Club, as originally defined, comprised the area East of the N1 freeway as far as Bronkhorstspruit, North of Lynnwood Road, and South of the Magaliesberg range.
In 2009 the Club changed its weekly meetings to breakfast on Saturdays, and in recognition of this changed its name to the Pretoria Sunrise Rotary Club.
