Discover the City of Cape Town, meet it's friendly people and enjoy the splendid views from the top of Table Mountain!
Welcome to Cape Town!
We offer two different full-day city tours: The popular Scenic Tour, where you enjoy the views from Table Mountain and Signal
Hill, visit the City Centre, Malay Quarter, Parade,
Groot Constantia Wine Estate and the Kirstenbosch National
Botanical Gardens; and the History and Cultures tour, which includes a visit to the South African Museum,
Company Gardens, Malay Quarter and District Six
museum as well as a tour into our townships.
We travel in small groups of 3 to 6 persons, accompanied by an
experienced guide.
We pick you up at your lodging and return you in the evening. Our tours are flexible and
we can include other points of interest without extra charge (within city limit).

SCENIC TOUR
If the weather is fine (and most times it
is!), we start the day by taking the revolving cable car to the top of Table
Mountain, guarded by the Lions Head and the Devils Peak. The views from this 1000
m high outlook are breathtaking!
On our way back, we enjoy the sweeping views from Signal Hill over Sea
Point, Green Point, Cape Town Harbour and the City
of Cape Town, with Table Mountain forming a majestic background.
We then continue on foot and stroll through the historical City-Centre,
the Company Gardens, Adderley Street
(oldest street of the town),
St George's Mall and Greenmarket
Square, where you might also do some shopping (there are
numerous street-sellers competing for your attention). We'll have lunch at one of the
restaurants of the city, or at the shady terrace of the Company Gardens.
After a short drive through the colourful Malay Quarter, along the Parade,
the City Hall and past the Castle (the oldest
European building in South Africa, built by the Dutch settlers in 1679), we leave
the City-Bowl and drive to Groot Constantia, the grandest of the Cape
Dutch homesteads. We visit its magnificent buildings, and taste its superb wines.
We continue our journey to the famous Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens,
where you can see a variety of over 9000 plants indigenous to Southern Africa, set in a
tranquil garden nestled at the slopes of Table Mountain.

HISTORY AND CULTURES
We begin our journey at the South African
Museum. The realistic and beautiful reconstructions of Bushmen's
scenes of life tell us about the first inhabitants of the sub-continent.
The Company Gardens give evidence of the arrival of Jan
van Riebeeck and the European civilisation. In the Malay Quarter
we discover how the descendants of slaves coming from the Far East have
influenced the South African identity. For lunch we taste the delicious specialities born
from the marriage between Asian and European recipe's.
At the District Six Museum you will be amazed by the vitality of the
"coloureds", an ethnic group which was
strongly oppressed during the apartheid years.
But the most oppressed were of course the Blacks, and they are by far the majority. Here
in the Western Cape, they are mostly Xhosa. So let's go visit the
underprivileged areas like the townships of Langa, Nyanga,
Guguletu or the immense Khayelitsha. To end the day, we
visit a Sangoma (traditional healer) with whom we share a cup of tea and
our questions (depending on availability).
