Who we are:
Fish Eagle Safaris has its base in Cape Town,
South Africa, near the southernmost point of Africa. We are a small, experienced
enterprise and have specialised in the organisation and carrying-out of a wide range of
Safaris and Tours as well as individual excursions for the discerning traveller.
Our business is registered with the South African registrar of companies
as a Close Corporation, under the name of "Greystone Trading 678", registration
number CK2002/033303/23, trading as "Fish Eagle Safaris".
Our VAT number is 4130198858.
Fish Eagle Safaris is co-owned by husband
and wife team Paul and Helen Hansen.
Paul is of South African origin, who, having spent close to 10 years living, working and
travelling in Europe and New Zealand, returned to settle in Cape Town in 1999. His love of
Africa, and its very varied environments, keeps him exploring at every opportunity, and he
quite often guides our tours. A passionate sailor, Paul is in charge of organising all our
water-based activities.
Wife and business partner, Helen, is of British origin. Having travelled through over 20 African countries on a year-long expedition in 1992, she returned many times to Southern Africa before settling here permanently in 1999. An enthusiastic traveller, Helen manages and co-ordinates tours behind the scenes to ensure a smooth and hassle-free holiday for our clients. She speaks English and French.
Our goals:
Our transport:
Generally we travel in small groups
of 2 to 6 persons, where we make use of a comfortable airconditioned VW-Minibus
(2,5 or 2,6l).
For our larger groups of 7 to 14 persons, we make use of a Mercedes
Sprinter, with air-conditioning, reclinable seats and a fridge.
For groups of 15 to 40 persons we hire a large coach
with all the comfort that is standard with a deluxe bus (aircon, toilets).
Accommodation:
For our camping tours and safaris,
we make use of robust and easy to erect tents (igloo type), high enough
to stand upright in the centre. We provide all camping gear necessary as
well as sleeping bags and pillows.
For more comfort, but still within a reasonable
budget, we use cottages, bungalows or chalets, which generally have two
rooms, a kitchen and a bathroom. Our guide prepares your meals in the morning and evening.
This type of
accommodation is available mainly in the national parks.
In towns, and for our clients wishing a little more comfort, we select some of the finest guesthouses in the area. In South Africa these are of an excellent high standard and offer a pleasant and personalised service. This in turn allows our clients to get in touch with South Africans and the realities of this country.
For our clients who want to experience the best in Africa,
we offer a choice of exclusive city and country hotels as well as luxurious lodges
in the many superb private game reserves all over the country.
