We have been designing and producing our individual creations under the Essential Bears label since 1992, specialising in miniature soft sculpture creations. The intricacy of design as well as the variety of finishes, including beadwork and embroidery, have become trademarks of our work.
We are based in Cape Town, South Africa, our studio situated in an old Cape cottage style house with a wonderful view of Table Mountain
Over
the years we have designed a range of patterns and kits which have
proved very popular in South Africa. Our patterns have also been featured
in several issues of the English magazine Teddy Bear Club International.
Drawing on the expertise gained in many years of creating award winning
bears we have designed an exclusive range of patterns for use by bear
makers.
Please note that as a courtesy to our many collectors these designs are
not used for our artist bears.
