Version history
pmRTF is a Rich Text composer and reader for
Pegasus Mail for windows 32bit.
It allows you to send and recieve Rich Text mail, from within Pegasus.
Here are some of the features
- Rich Text mail (ie selectable font, color, size, attrib)
- No 64k limit for mail viewer / composer
- Composer
- Up to 9 signatures (RTF sigs natraly)
- Tabbed toolbar
- Indents + bullets
- Random quotes
- Reader
- Reply, forward, print
- View headers
There are some things I would still like to add, these include
- Some way of viewing 'copy to self' mail
- a WinHelp file
- Compressed mail?
- Your suggestion here
Only users with pmRTF and Pegasus installed will be able to view
mail composed with pmRTF.
Thus DO NOT send mail composed with it to any
list! You are realy going to anoy people if you do.
Make sure the person you are sending mail to also has pmRTF.

Ver 0.3b
- Font style buttons + ctrl key fixed
If you press bold (with nothing selected) then the _next_ thing you
type will be in bold.
Ver 0.3b
- Save and Load of mail (on "Additional" tab)
- MIME multi part mail
NB to implement MIME the mail format for pmRTF has had to change.
I appologise for this, but there is no other way.
0.3b beta can read mail from any previous version, but no previous version
can read mail sent by 0.3b!
The MIME mail consists of 3 parts
- A text only version of the RTF mail
- A 3 line message saying its a pmRTF mail
- The RTF mail
If you are using pmRTF to read the mail this should make no differance to you. You just double click
and the reader will come up as usual. If you are not uing pmRTF (eg one of your less fortunate friends :),
then you will be able to read the text version of the mail.
One last thing, the MIME part of pmRTF is still in development and I can't guarantee that the mail format
wont change again. But such is beta software....
Ver 0.3a
- pmRTF button
pmRTF button on the pmail tool bar
- Fast clipboard sig copy option
No more waiting for the sigs, but it overwrites your clipboard
data... I am still working on another method.
- Mail options to 'Special Mail Options page'
Confirm Reading/Delivery, Copy Self and Urgent settings moved
from the 'Settings + Options' form to the 'Special mail options'
form
- Urgent flag is no longer sticky
- Ctrl key font toggle
ctrl-B bold
ctrl-S Strikeout
ctrl-U Underline
ctrl-F Font
ctrl-I Italic
- Random quote support
(On the special mail options page)
Quotes (if enabled) are always added above the sig (if enabled)
I plan to add the ~! substitution, like pmail in a future release.
Pmail quotes can not be imported, again I hope to add this feature
later on...

Ver 0.2b
- Resizable

Size and pos settings are saved
- Prefrances Saved (per user)
Setting sutch as size / pos / use RTF sigs are saved
seperatly for each user.
- Right click menu for composer RTF
clicking the right button on the composer RTF window,
will popup a small menu.
- Font Copy
On the Font (2) page of the tabbed toolbar
Like the font copy of WinWord, only different.
It works like this
- Select the text with the desired font
- Click the buttton labled c
- Select the text where you want to apply the font
- Click the buttton labled p
- The font will be applied
- Tabs
The Rich Edit now accepts tabs.
Because of this
- You cant tab out of the rich edit (obviously!)
- You cant tab into it either, makes more sence this way,
to me anyway
- Sigs
Enabled again
The add sig function is still slow, but at least now
you can see it working. Not exactly riviting entertainment, but
oh well.... There must be a better way to copy RTF text
(without using the clipboard).
- No default selection.
In the old versions when nothing was selected the default selection
was used. But the default selection does not work logicly (IMHO).
So I removed this.
Ver 0.2a
- Quick fix for signatures.
The add sig button does work, it just takes a
long time for the text to be copied. Thus the sig function
has been disabled.
