Boulders Beach must be one of the most beautiful cove-like beaches in the world and home to the endangered African Penguin. The Boulders Coastal Park, which forms part of the Cape Peninsula National Park are the caretakers of these beautiful birds. There are some 570 pairs of African Penguins and you will be guaranteed to see these vulnerable birds going about their daily business in their natural environment. Boulders Beach is the perfect beach for swimming and snorkeling and is very safe for children. It is also one of the few beaches in the world where you can swim with the African Penguins ! It is sheltered by the South Easterly wind that blows regularly in summer and should you wish to venture on the boulders just be careful of the penguins as their bite is incredibly painful ! The Penguin Point Restaurant at Boulders Beach Lodge offers a variety of daily fresh seafood and eclectic cuisine.
