Whale Watching

Over the summer season the Southern Right Whale comes to the south coast of South Africa to calf and mate, and this provides a wonderful opportunely to get close to and observe the whales basking in their natural habitat. A whale watching trip by boat is an exciting way to view the whales, you get as close as 50m before the engines are cut. Your vessel is an 8m long rubber duck with two 85 horse power engines. The trip lasts an hour and a half, and leaves from the near by Simons Town Harbour on a regular basis depending on the weather. Boat Trips

"SPIRIT OF JUST NUISANCE" is a boat based historical harbour tour departing from Simon's Town Harbour travelling along the historical route to the Simon's Town station and then across Simon's Bay to the Naval Dockyard. This is a guided 40 minute cruise not to be missed!! Cost: R25 for Adults & R15 for children. Maximum of 50 people on board with a minimum of 6 people.

"BEACHCOMBER" is a deep sea vessel with two 90hp Mariners on board which departs from Simon's Town Harbour for exciting eco boat trips to :
Seal Island Tour Time : 1.5 Hours Cost : R 150 per person (Subject to change)
Cape Point Tour Time : 2 Hours Cost : R 150 per person (Subject to change)

The Southern Peninsula is possibly one of the best places to surf in South Africa. With the rugged coastline and interesting conditions, there is always a wave to be found somewhere along the coast. Surfing lessons are available 7 days a week at a cost of R 350 a lesson including all equipment. You are guaranteed to be up and riding in the first lesson !
