The KestreL600 Wind Turbine Controller/Regulator employs state of the art technology. It is a weather resistant outdoor mountable controller unit suitable for battery charging. Design considerations were based on zero maintenance reliability at continuous 24 hour 100% duty cycle. Electronic continuous shunt loading ensures correct load characteristics and dynamic speed control of the wind turbine at all times. The result is that the KestreL600 generates optimum power at all wind speeds and particularly at low wind conditions. Available as 12V, 24V, 36V or 48V system.

With wind activity the KestreL600 will supply both the load (Lights, TV, Radio, Security System, etc.) and the battery at the same time. This is an important factor as there will be many times (strong and prevailing wind conditions) where the load is actually powered by the turbine.

Ripple current can shorten the working life of batteries and this is eliminated by the fully rectified super-smooth polyphase output of the KestreL600 Wind Turbine. The generator voltage is constantly regulated to ensure battery charging at the correct curve. The regulator incorporates amongst others turbine speed control, electronic braking and overvoltage protection.

The KestreL600 Controller / Regulator is designed that it can connect in parallel with existing or new solar panel arrays and additional KestreL Wind Turbine systems (micro windfarms) to meet increased electrical power output requirements.

The KestreL600 Controller / Regulator forms an integral part of the KestreL600 Wind Turbine Generator system but is also obtainable as a separate unit. To avoid battery deep discharge automatic "Loadshed" is available as an optional facility. "Loadshed" comes as a separate unit to allow multiple Controller/ Regulator installations. Modular design of the KestreL600 Controller/Regulator and "Loadshed" provide the perfect concept for upgrading individual or hybrid Alternative Energy Systems.
