Specification

1. Straining Posts and Corner Posts

1.1 POSTS: Prestressed non alkali aggregate reactive concrete posts resisting a minimum moment of 3800Nm.
1.2 STAYS: Prestressed non alkali aggregate reactive concrete stay resisting a minimum bending moment of 1500Nm needed only with System SC 240.
1.3 SPACING: Straining posts are spaced at maximum 90 metre centres.
1.4 STEEL STRAINING POSTS: An alternative to the concrete straining posts, see System S.

2. Intermediate Posts

1.1 POSTS: Prestressed non alkali aggregate reactive concrete posts resisting a minimum moment of 1500Nm perpendicular to the direction of the fence line.
1.2 SPACING: Standards are spaced at a maximum of 3.0 metre centres.

3. Concrete Bases

3.1 STRAINING POSTS   450 x 450 x 600mm deep.
3.2 STAYS:   400 x 600 x 400mm deep
3.3 INTERMEDIATE POSTS:   300 x 300 x 400mm deep. (Planted in hole 600mm deep)

4. Choice of Mesh Cover

See Chainlink (Diamond) Mesh or Welded Mesh.

5. Extension Arms

Steel Arms manufactured from 3mm steel plate and hot dip galvanised to SABS 763 of 1977 after manufacture. The extension arms are bolted by means of a 13mm diameter allen bolt to top of post.
Cast aluminium extension arms are also available.

6. Barbed Wire

Three strands of barbed wire are fixed with tie wire to the extension arms. See Barbed Wire for details on quality, type and diameter.

7. Toprail (optional)

7.1 Galvanised toprail option 3mm x 2mm
7.2 Aluminium toprail option 38mm x 2mm
7.3 Toprails are joined by a nylon spigot every 6m.

8. Gates

Standard Alcape Fencing security gates, bar gates and ornamental gates can be included in this system. Refer to the various Gate Specification leaflets in this catalogue.
