1. Gate Frame
The gate frame is manufactured from square and rectangular steel tube with a 2mm wall thickness. For tube dimensions see below table
2. Bars
The bars are manufactured from round tube with a 2mm wall thickness spaced at 150mm intervals. For bar diameters see below table.
3. Gate Posts
The gate posts are manufactured from round steel caps welded to the top of the posts. Posts match all AlCape Fencing fencing specifications. For post size see below table.
4. Hinges
Pintle hinges with anti-lift devices in the closed position are standard to all gates. Collared hinges are bolted to the gate posts or base plates during manufacture depending on whether the gate is to be hung on gate posts or fixed to columns or walls.
5. Locking Devices
5.1 Double leaf gates are fitted with a special padlock locking device which also secure drop bolts when locked.
5.2 A drop bolt (encased in a mild steel) is fitted to each leaf.
5.3 Slam plates are fitted to the female frame of the double leaf gate.
6. Finish
All steel components are hot dip galvanised after manufacture to SABS 763 of 1977.
