1. Will you
write a script for me?
Sure, I
only ask two things: provide me with a list of your previous credits
and company information and pay me. This does not include deferred
payments or "payment in kind", we're talking cash, credit
card or cheque.
2. Can I buy
your script?
See above:
"Will you write a script for me?".
3. Please read
my script and tell me what you think.
Sorry, I
am hard pressed at the moment to find time to critique strangers'
scripts. Helium Peer Review is a brilliant site where you are bound to
garner a few insightful comments.
4. I am a
Writers Guild signatory agent who only represents quality
screenwriters. I searched the globe for undiscovered talent and
finally found you, hidden away in South Africa. When can we sign you
up?
I can
dream, can't I? My previous agent, Anna Piazza of Chadwick & Gros
Literary Agency, would be more than happy to provide a reference. Her
contact number is
+ 1 225 338 9521.
5. I format my
screenplays using Microsoft Word, why should I buy screenwriting
software?
One word,
"Time". If you've got days to spend reformatting every time
you take out a line here and add a line there, then sure, Microsoft
Word is fine. I eventually got fed up with all the extra work and
invested in Final Draft. It has been worth every penny.
